Learn More About The January 6th Defendants
In September 2023, U.S. District Judge Amit Mehta, the so-called “nemesis” of Trump
rejected a defense effort to throw out the Washington D.C. jury’s guilty verdict against Thomas Caldwell, a retired U.S. Navy intelligence officer who was convicted for the U.S. Capitol protest alongside Oath Keepers founder Stewart Rhodes. Retired U.S. Navy Lieutenant Commander Tom Caldwell has been falsely accused and prosecuted for exercising his Constitutional rights and for supporting President Trump. His next sentencing date is October 22, 2024, depriving him of his children, farm and family for months.
The tying of Caldwell to Oath Keeper member Rhodes in the press[1] reveals Judge Mehta’s exposure to the “FISA Court” which has access to Oath Keeper investigations. Judge Mehta’s ability to review such confidential information on the FISA court and then sit on the D.C. District Court bench raises questions into the potential bias of holding these two bench seats simultaneously.
According to the Caldwell family’s consistent efforts to set the facts straight:
Since Tom’s arrest in January 2021, the Government has made numerous false claims about Tom (such as calling him the leader of an “attack” on January 6, 2021 at the U.S. Capitol and claiming that Tom commanded a group called the “Oath Keepers”). Many of these ridiculous and outrageous claims were based on a shoddy and rushed “investigation”. Over time, the Government has admitted many of their mistakes.
THE JUSTICE DEPARTMENT CONCEDES THEY WERE WRONG :
Tom was NEVER “Commander” of a group called the “Oath Keepers”, nor was he ever a “Leader” or a “member” of this group.
Tom did NOT enter the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.
Tom did NOT commit any acts of violence, damage any property, or threaten anyone, including law enforcement.
Tom did NOT participate in a plan to enter the U.S. Capitol or to stop the certification of the electoral college vote on January 6, 2021.[2]
